Hepatitis C Treatment Prior-Authorization Story

The prior-authorization process required by insurance companies for access to hepatitis C medications is a critical barrier to curing people living with hepatitis C and saving lives. It shouldn’t be this difficult! HepFree PA is composing a collection of written, audio, and video narratives to tell the stories of Pennsylvania residents accessing cure for hepatitis C.

The plan is to share these stories with Pennsylvania decision makers who have the authority to remove the prior authorization process. Sharing your experience with accessing hepatitis C cure for yourself, family, friends, patients, or participants will help our efforts to prove to authorities that prior-authorization requirements by insurance companies prevent people who need treatment from accessing lifesaving HCV medications.

We appreciate you and your time in sharing your experiences. If you prefer to email us directly, email hepcap.philly@gmail.com to Melissa Hobkirk. Please note that no personal identifying information will be shared publicly in storytelling. It is okay to remain anonymous if you’d like.
