In October of 2018, renowned Pittsburgh musician Jack Hunt, aka Johnny Angel of Johnny Angel and the Halos, posted on social media that his wife, Mary Lou, was in dire need of a live liver donor. The post received hundreds of shares and thousands of views.

In February of 2019, it was revealed to the family that a non-family donor, Sarah Booz, had been found and the transplant surgery was being scheduled.

On April 17th, 2019, Mary Lou Hunt was the recipient of the live liver transplant at UPMC Presbyterian.

Jack Hunt and his family are holding a one-day, community and family-oriented music festival to include Pittsburgh music's greats and national artists associated with Jack's accomplished music career.

The goal is to give back to the donor family and to help support the tireless efforts of the Community Liver Alliance and its promotion of liver health, live donors and its work against the stigma of liver disease.
